Description:

This October Vietnam is celebrating the 1000th birthday of Hanoi, marked with the 1000 Year Thang Long – Hanoi Festival. As the biggest cultural event in the year, the festival will take place during 10 days long (from 1st to 10th October, 2010) with a lot of social, cultural and tourism events.

The festival will start with an opening ceremony at the monument of King Lý Thái T? and streets around the Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake. Then there comes a series of activities, including exhibitions, art performances and sports events.

The grand celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi will be held on the last day of the festival with a state-level meeting at Ba Dinh square with military march and parade. By the West Lake in the evening a cultural gala night will perform. You can also watch firework at My Dinh National Stadium.
