Description:

Get off the beaten tourist track and check out Huang Bei Ling.
Get on the 97 bus from Lowu station and go past WalMart then you are getting close. The bus terminates at Huan Bei Ling.
Here you will not see other tourists - EVER!! The food is fabulous. For about A$10 you and your friend can eat your fill. Try the Tang Fan (say it like: tongue fun)...steamed flat rice noodle and egg with soy based sauce for 3 yuan.
There are also great clothes markets and fresh fruit and vegetables. This is the REAL CHINA. Simple, honest, truly good people.
****Important****
DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER YOUR ACCOMODATION WITH THE POLICE or you will get a 500 yuan fine or a free trip to the border.
