Description:

The Restaurant is famous for it's Come Nieu, or crispy rice cooked in a clay pot, which is smashed in front of the customers, and then the rice is thrown across the room to the waiter at each table. This restaurant, owned by Madame Ngoc, always receives rave reviews, and was mentioned in Anthony Bourdain's book, "A Cook's Tour." See my book review on this site for more information.

Thrown across??

When you make an intriguing statement about a clay pot filled with crispy rice smashed in a restaurant and then "thrown across the room" to a waiter at each table, you must, in all fairness, elucidate - or readers might have visions of being splattered with rice should the waiters miss the catch!

I’m always curious about what kind of strange things people eat in other countries, and jump at the chance to try new delicacies. Vietnam rises to the occasion and is a cornucopia of the bizarre and still wriggling.
