Description:

Otherwise known as the Pujiang, The Astor House Hotel is a genuine Art Deco hotel located just across the bridge from Shanghai's Bund district. The hotel caters to a wide range of travelers, having cheapish dorms, singles and doubles and luxurious suites. There's a decent bar on the second floor, complete with overpriced net access, and an OK restaurant with a 20 RMB lunch buffet. More character than you can shake a stick at.

The help was surly at first, but warmed up eventually. It reminded me of life in old post-reform China
