Khom Loi (sky lantern) at Yi Peng lantern festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand |

As my journey to the north part of Thailand, which is Chiang Mai to document a story about this Loy Krathong festival. In Chiang Mai, Loy Krathong is celebrated in their own style and in a bit different way.
It is called Yi Peng Lantern Festival.
In this Yi Peng Festival in Chiang Mai, a balloon like ‘Khom Loi’ lanterns, ‘Khom Fai’ – a fire lantern and ‘Khom Khwan’ – a smoke lantern are flown into the sky as a symbol of worship to Phrathat Chulamani in heaven.
I was there to witness this awesome, beautiful event. Thousands of 'sky lanterns' are floating in the sky of Chiang Mai. After a year of planning about this trip, with very little information I still manage to come and witness it with my own eyes and capture it with my camera. I must say this the one of the awesome things I have ever seen in my life.
