These photos are of Chandpur river town.
It is 60 miles south east of Dhaka. The river town lies on the Bank of river "Dakatia" joining mighty river "Meghna". It was more busy a river port even during the second world war times.
Culturally a very active town. Inside the town most of the communication is done by "Rickshaw"s. So the air is clean. Fruits, vegitables, fish and other produce are fresh and organic in nature. Two train station are in the heart of the city linking to destinations like Chittagong, Feni, Laksham.
Reaching Chandpur
One can reach Chandpur by river transports which leaves Dhaka from SadarGhat(main river port). Experience and enjoy the river ride. See the river country side.It is 2/3 hours journey depending on river tide.
Long distance buses ply from the town's perimeter bus stands. Two theatres are in town, mostly showing local films.Enjoy living a day or two in the town. It will be a memorable one. It is unlike guided tours, where guides make taught running commentary, discover the lifestyle yourself. Best experince will be through someone locally known.
