For a great seafood dinner in Nha Trang, I recommend heading to the Sea Pearl. With a combination of a great view, delicious, fresh fish and a beautiful ride from town - plus very reasonable prices - it really can't be beaten.

It was first pointed out to me on a motorbike ride with a friend who lived in Nha Trang  but we had already eaten so it wasn't for another couple of months until I sampled it - and it was definately worth the wait!

To get there: From the backpacker area of Nha Trang drive north up Tran Phu (left when you look out to sea!) and follow the road over the bridge that crosses the river.

Keep going along the seafront as the road winds round the headland and into another, less built up bay. There is a second headland that is a great place to stop and look back on the town of Nha Trang - very popular with the local kids at night - then another bay. As you come to the third headland there are a couple of seafood restaurants. I ate at the Sea Pearl but I was assured they are all very good indeed!

It is not until you actually take off your shoes, roll up your trousers and muck in that you really appreciate the skill and energy required to harvest rice.
