Republic of Turkey. Site run by the government of Turkey which offers all country and travel specifics as well as issues facing the country today both socially and environmentally.

Turkey Tourism. This site is also run by the government of Turkey in order to promote tourism here. The site highlights the country's ideal climate and historical treasures. Find the usual travel details here as well as lists of accommodations and links to other useful information.

CIA World Factbook. According to the CIA, "Present-day Turkey was created in 1923 from the Turkish remnants of the Ottoman Empire." There are many historical facts to be had here, but more than that, the CIA offers specific information not found elsewhere, such as mortality rates and environmental threats.

About Turkey. Learn about all things concerning Turkey, including Anatolian Carpets and other cultural treasures found in this country. Specifically, this site offers the meanings of the symbols on the Anatolian Carpets, regional classifications, cleaning and daily care, how they are construct, etc. Other highlights include treasures and cuisines.

Turkish Daily News. Daily news site offering country headlines.

Turkey Country Studies. This site is well-researched by the government and offers specifics on the country including detailed specifications on the economy, transportation and telecommunications, government and politics, as well as specifics on the people and societies within the country. Very textbook-like information that is well-organized.

Turkey Country Briefing. Country briefing offers detailed information regarding Turkey?s economy for those interesting in doing business here; particular emphasis is placed on the country's natural resources.

Turkey Country Overview. Site offers an overview of Turkey with highlights that include "Trouble over Turkish History," "Turkish Women and Islam," and "Turkey's Christian Heritage."

Turkish Embassy. Typical government information here for the traveler such as visa details, travel precautions, business details, and other relevant info.

Turkey in Photos. A Turkey Travel Guide with detailed explanations of tourist destinations. Over 1200 photos.
