This restaurant serves you the most basic of Chinese food, with a low price tag. Located opposite the former Paramount Theatre, which is now a Giant Supermarket, you cannot miss the bright yellow signboard. Parking is a bit of a hassle and the lunch crowd can get rather big. It would be good if you can be at the restaurant before 12:50 p.m. during weekdays.

There is nothing fancy here in terms of decor. Practical stainless steel tables are laid out in the restaurant where you head towards the back to order your food. The food comprises of basic Chinese food with the peanut porridge as their specialty. Asides from peanuts, there are also oysters and squids in the porridge. Sprinkled with some spring onions, sesame oil and a dash of pepper, you can imagine just how tasty and fragrant the porridge is.

If porridge is not filling enough, you can also opt for some great accompaniment such as the vegetarian meehoon, mee or kuey teow. Try also the delicious curry chee cheong fun with the generous sprinkle of sesame seeds. Besides noodles, you can also go for yong tau foo. There are stuffed lady’s fingers, brinjals, red chili, fried won tan, and the likes. Wash it all down with a glass of cold herbal tea. A sample serving of one plate of curry chee cheong fun, two bowls of porridge, and four pieces of yong tau foo including two drinks will cost you less than RM15. That is more than enough food for two people.
