Bonbori lanterns will be placed in the sea to send to one's ancestors. Shown is Bon festival at Hayama Beach, Kanagawa, Japan The Sagami Kite Festival, held during Golden Week in May each year features some of the largest kites in Japan, some weighing over a ton. Hanami or flower viewing party held each April across Japan when the cherry blossoms or sakura are in bloom. The blossoms last less than a week, part of the beauty or temporariness dear to the hearts of the Japanese. Mask of a nobleman at the Mengake Procession a unique event held in Kamakura for thousands of years.
