One of my most memorable experiences was to spend a few days to explore and document the many ghats along the Ganges in Varanasi.  I have arrived in Varanasi with a few members of AsiaExplorers.  Over the next few days we went out own way, while regrouping for meals and room.

Armed with a tripod, I explored the western bank of the Ganges.  It makes a gentle curve, and on this curve is the city of Varanasi.  It is here that Varanasi is the most photogenic.  There are about close to a hundred ghats (some say more), which are steps leading down to the water.  I managed to photograph and document a good deal of them, which you can view here.

Upon discovering Things Asian, I thought it would be worth while to share with you the documentation that I have done.  If you have also visited the ghats, please write to me tim@asiaexplorers.com and share with me your experience - I'd be delighted to hear from you.
