Driving Highway One: Danang

Taking a break from the long drive. A French road marker (found all along Highway One) alongside the road to Danang. On the way home after a long day in the fields. Roadside sign for a restaurant. If you love eating the local food, there is no shortage of it anywhere along Highway One. A man takes firewood to the market. Firewood is the primary source of heat for cooking.

DaNang-one of my favorit cities.

From the moment our plane touched down in DaNang, we were greeted with open arms and smiling faces. We visited Sister Angela at the Sacred Heart Orphanage on China Beach. It was such a shock to her to see American faces again. She was so delighted to see us and hold us. We fell in love with her and the children immediately. It was one of the most memorable parts of the trip. She has since passed on to her Heavenly reward. I know she watches us here and prays for us. We loved Sister Angela and the Sisters at Sacred Heart. They lifted our hearts and souls. God Bless Them and the work that they do. ANN VERMEIRE

It is not until you actually take off your shoes, roll up your trousers and muck in that you really appreciate the skill and energy required to harvest rice.
