I have been an Asia specialist in the U.S. military for many years and lived in 3 Asian countries for a total of 9 years.  As the former editor-in-chief (22-years) of a U.S. government international defense magazine for the Asia-Pacific region, I filled 4 passports travelling throughout Asia, from Sri Lanka up to Burma and across to China and down to Australia and every country in between. Now retired, I collect Asian antiquities and antiques.
