Lynn Grebstad has more than twenty years' experience of international public relations gained in both Europe and Asia. She has developed and implemented successful public relations campaigns for two of the world's leading hotels namely, The Peninsula and The Regent in Hong Kong and prior to founding her own public relations consultancy in 1995, she was head of corporate communications for The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, one of Hong Kong's oldest public companies and parent company of the prestigious Peninsula Group, which is regarded as one of the world's premier hotel groups. Following a hotel and airline career in the United Kingdom, she moved to Hong Kong in 1982. In 1983, she joined the legendary Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong as director of public relations performing both public relations and marketing functions for this high profile hotel. In 1986 she moved to The Regent - flagship of the prestigious Regent International hotel group. In her role as director of public relations, she created national and international print, radio and broadcast media exposure and co-ordinated special events such as the hotel's 10th Anniversary. During her tenure The Regent was voted the world's top hotel by a series of leading international publications, notably the Institutional Investor, Conde Nast Traveler and Business Traveller. In 1992 she joined The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, as director of corporate communications responsible for both The Peninsula Group and the company's property and development division. She also sat on the organising committee for the opening of the new HK$1.6 billion, 30-storey extension to The Peninsula hotel, organising the international media launch, topping out ceremony and finally, the grand opening celebrations for over 4,000 invited guests and international media. She left the company in 1994 to establish Lynn D Grebstad & Associates, her own consultancy specialising in marketing and public relations for luxury hotels and in 1998 this was merged with Paul J Hicks & Associates to form Grebstad Hicks Communications.
